My illustrative art career really took off in 2017, thanks to the inspiration of my long-standing obsession with the American rock band Phish, their music, and the colorful scene that surrounds them. From patchwork clothing to felted figurines, I have hustled the parking lot since my very first show in 1998. It was not until I started making the prints you see below that I was finally able to fund entire tours following the band and immerse myself fully in the culture. A real dream-come-true for any die-hard Phish fan!
Special thanks to friends Territo and Molly for giving me a reason to draw their favorite songs ("Slave to the Traffic Light" and "Bathtub Gin"), and to Pete Mason of PhanArt for always supporting and encouraging me, and for providing a safe space for Phish fan artists to show and sell their work in comfort and dignity, as well as providing an easy one-stop shop for collectors. You are all truly killing it!
One more shout-out to Phish.net for providing an online community for fans as well an encyclopedia of information about the band, their history and their music. This site is entirely fan-run and operates alongside the Mockingbird Foundation, a charity for music education for children.
